Jill Biden Accused of ‘Elder Abuse’ for Supporting President’s 2024 Re-Election Bid, Says Washington Insider

Washington, D.C. — Longtime Washington Post columnist and socialite Sally Quinn is making headlines for a pointed accusation against former First Lady Jill Biden, claiming she committed what amounts to “elder abuse” by encouraging President Joe Biden to seek re-election despite his declining health.

In a candid interview on The Tara Palmeri Show, Quinn didn’t hold back. “I blame Jill Biden for this,” she said. “If she had told Joe not to run, he wouldn’t have. She supported it—and that was a disservice to the country.”

Health Concerns Raised After Cancer Diagnosis

The explosive remarks come on the heels of a troubling health update: former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. The revelation shocked many, including Quinn, who questioned how such a condition could have gone undetected for so long given the quality of medical care available to U.S. presidents.

“It should’ve been diagnosed a long time ago,” Quinn said. “It’s hard for me to believe they didn’t know and just waited until it was too aggressive to hide.”

A spokesperson later confirmed to Fox News that Biden’s last prostate screening occurred in 2014.

‘Elder Abuse’ Accusation Stems from Debate Fallout

According to Quinn, alarm bells rang after Biden’s widely criticized performance during the June 2024 presidential debate—a moment that intensified public scrutiny of his fitness for office.

“She wasn’t protecting him,” Quinn said of Jill Biden. “I thought it was elder abuse, really.”

She said the former First Lady’s unwavering push for her husband’s campaign left many in the Washington establishment disturbed. “Everyone thought he shouldn’t run,” Quinn continued. “It was terrible for the party, and people were horrified he was allowed to.”

Insider Insight and Personal Reflection

Quinn, who was married to famed Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee during his battle with dementia, drew a personal comparison. She described Biden’s behavior—his forgetfulness and moments of confusion—as strikingly familiar.

“To me, it looks like the beginning of dementia,” she said.

She also echoed growing concerns in Washington circles that Biden’s staff and family may have knowingly overlooked signs of cognitive decline.

New Book Alleges White House Cover-Up

The controversy is further inflamed by the release of Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, a new book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson. The book alleges that the White House actively concealed Biden’s deteriorating condition while he was in office.

Quinn said the idea of Biden continuing to serve was widely seen as a mistake, even among political allies. “People felt sorry for him,” she said, “but it was still his egotistical decision to stay in office—and now look where we are.”

Silence from Jill Biden’s Office

As of publication, Jill Biden’s office has not responded to requests for comment.

Key Takeaways:

  • Joe Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis has reignited questions about his cognitive and physical fitness.
  • New reporting alleges the White House covered up signs of Biden’s decline.
  • Quinn’s remarks echo sentiments reportedly shared by others in the Washington political establishment.
