During the event, Rajamouli described Varanasi as a passion project he has been developing for years. The film was previously known by the working title “Globe Trotter,” but now carries the name of the ancient city considered the spiritual heart of Hinduism.

The venue featured large replicas of Varanasi’s architecture. Fireworks, colorful lighting, and Telugu music—both classic and newly composed—turned the event into a vibrant celebration. The atmosphere highlighted the enthusiasm that Rajamouli’s films consistently generate.

The Telugu film industry has become known for high-energy action, grand visuals, and myth-inspired storytelling. Rajamouli has played a major role in bringing Tollywood to worldwide audiences.
