Luxury Property Brokers Charged with Sex Trafficking in the U.S.

Two prominent luxury real estate brokers, Tal and Oren Alexander, along with their brother Alon, have been charged with sex trafficking in a case alleging the drugging, assaulting, and raping of dozens of women over more than a decade.

Prosecutors accuse the Alexanders, renowned for selling high-end properties in New York and Miami, of using their wealth and influence to exploit women.

Arrest and Charges

The brothers were arrested in Florida on Wednesday and will be transferred to New York to face the charges. The charges include one count of engaging in a sex trafficking conspiracy and another count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion. Tal Alexander faces an additional count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.

Allegations of Heinous Conduct

At a press conference in Manhattan, Damian Williams, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, detailed the severity of the allegations.

“As of today, law enforcement has interviewed dozens of women who reported being forcibly raped or sexually assaulted by at least one of the Alexander brothers,” Williams said. “This conduct, as alleged, was heinous.”

The indictment outlines a decade-long scheme involving:

  • Inviting women to parties under false pretenses.
  • Using promises of luxury experiences and travel to lure women to locations in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Procuring and covertly administering drugs to women.
  • Physically restraining victims and ignoring their pleas during assaults.
  • Offering concert tickets and luxury items to victims after the assaults.

Legal Responses

Lawyers representing the brothers have denied the allegations. Susan Necheles, representing Oren Alexander, stated, “Oren Alexander is innocent. The evidence will show that neither he nor his brothers ever committed a crime.” Tal Alexander’s representative declined to comment, while Alon Alexander’s lawyer did not respond to requests.

Meanwhile, David Gottlieb, a lawyer representing the alleged victims, praised the indictment.

“We are glad to hear that there will finally be some measure of accountability for the Alexander brothers and justice for their many victims,” Gottlieb said in a statement. “We applaud all the survivors who have had the strength and courage to speak up about their unimaginable experiences after years of pain and suffering.”

The Alexander Brothers’ Profile

Tal and Oren Alexander gained fame working for real estate giant Douglas Elliman, handling luxury properties for high-profile clients like Liam Gallagher, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West. In 2022, they launched their own firm, Official.

What Lies Ahead

As the legal process unfolds, the case highlights the gravity of the allegations and the courage of the survivors in seeking justice. The indictment represents a significant step in addressing the alleged crimes and holding the accused accountable.
