The Weeknd’s After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ Tour Hits $1 Billion Milestone

The Weeknd’s After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ Tour has officially grossed $1.004 billion, according to Live Nation, making it one of the highest-earning tours in history. Spanning North America, Europe, Latin America, and Australia, the tour has sold approximately 7.55 million tickets across 153 shows. Industry experts say this milestone reflects the artist’s global appeal and enduring impact on live music.

Tour Overview and Financial Milestone

Launched in Philadelphia in July 2022, The Weeknd’s After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ Tour continues through September 2026, concluding in Lisbon, Portugal, at Estádio do Restelo. Live Nation reports that ticket sales data, including VIP and platinum packages, collected from March 2022 through November 2025, show the tour grossed $1.004 billion with 7.55 million tickets sold across 153 dates.

“The Weeknd continues to redefine what it means to be a global touring artist,” said Omar Al-joulani, Live Nation’s president of touring. “Crossing the billion-dollar mark is a testament to his staying power and the incredible demand for his live show.”

Tour Highlights and Challenges

Despite its commercial success, the tour has not been without challenges. On the final night of his 2022 shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, experienced a sudden vocal issue, forcing him to cancel the performance. Subsequent makeup shows allowed fans to witness his full artistic range, and the experience was later chronicled in the album and film “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” both fictionalized accounts of the journey.

This summer, The Weeknd returned to SoFi Stadium for a four-night series of performances, marking a triumphant comeback and reaffirming his status as a leading global performer.

Industry Perspective and Expert Commentary

Darryl Eaton, CAA’s head of global touring, said, “Very few artists reach this level of global touring success. It’s truly rarefied air, and being part of the team supporting Abel’s ascent to this milestone is one of the proudest moments of my career.”

Tours grossing over $1 billion are still rare. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour became the first in 2023 to reach the milestone, bringing in $1.04 billion across 60 shows and 4.35 million tickets sold. By December 2024, Pollstar reported that her tour had cumulatively grossed $2.2 billion, setting a new record for highest-grossing tour of all time.

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour also achieved significant success, grossing $1.39 billion as of 2025. These figures illustrate a growing trend of superstar tours achieving unprecedented commercial scale.

Global Impact and Cultural Significance

The Weeknd’s tour demonstrates the increasing internationalization of live music, with performances spanning multiple continents and drawing millions of fans. Beyond ticket sales, the tour underscores the enduring appeal of immersive, high-production concerts that combine visual storytelling with chart-topping hits.

For The Weeknd, the achievement represents not just financial success but a consolidation of his cultural influence. With fans across the globe, his ability to consistently sell out stadiums highlights the transformative role of modern live music tours in connecting audiences worldwide.

Looking Ahead

As the After Hours ‘Til Dawn’ Tour continues through 2026, industry observers expect The Weeknd’s cumulative gross to increase further, reinforcing his position among the most commercially successful touring artists in history. Live Nation and other concert promoters anticipate that continued demand for high-caliber live performances will maintain this upward trajectory.
