FOX News Media has parted ways with Maria Bartiromo, ending the veteran business and political television personality’s more than 12-year tenure with the network and triggering changes across several programs associated with her.
The network said the separation became effective Sept. 3. In its announcement, FOX thanked Bartiromo for her work and wished her well in the next chapter of her career but did not provide a reason for the departure.
Bartiromo joined Fox Business Network in 2014 after spending roughly two decades at CNBC, beginning a FOX career that eventually expanded from financial journalism into political and economic coverage.
FOX Reshapes Bartiromo’s Programs
The departure is already affecting multiple parts of FOX’s television lineup rather than a single program.
Mornings with Maria will continue under the name Mornings with FOX Business, with rotating anchors. Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street is also being rebranded as FBN’s Wall Street, with Cheryl Casone initially scheduled to host before rotating anchors take over.
On Fox News, Jason Chaffetz will temporarily host Sunday Morning Futures. FOX said a permanent host will be announced later and that a broader weekday programming schedule is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
The changes mark a significant programming transition for a network personality whose name had been attached to several established shows.
A Career Spanning Business and Politics
Bartiromo first became widely known through financial television. At CNBC, she developed a prominent profile as a business journalist and was recognized for reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
After joining Fox Business in 2014, she continued covering markets, business and economic policy while taking on a broader role in political and national-affairs coverage. Her FOX programs increasingly brought financial issues and political interviews together, establishing her as a recognizable figure across both areas of television news.
Fox News Media announced in 2019 that it had re-signed Bartiromo to a multiyear agreement, describing her at the time as an anchor and global markets editor.
Sunday Morning Futures Loses Its Longtime Host
Bartiromo’s role at Sunday Morning Futures gave her a prominent platform for interviews with political figures, government officials, business leaders and other newsmakers.
FOX’s program description characterizes the show as an examination of business news alongside interviews focused on economic and political issues. Bartiromo’s final listed episode aired Aug. 30, shortly before the network announced her departure.
Her exit therefore removes a familiar host from a program that connected FOX’s business and political coverage.
FOX Has Not Explained the Departure
The network’s announcement provided few details about the circumstances surrounding the split.
FOX News Media did not cite ratings, programming changes, contract matters or another specific factor as the reason for ending its relationship with Bartiromo. The company said it was parting ways with her and thanked her for her 12½ years with FOX.
Bartiromo’s next professional move also remains unknown. No announcement of a new television role or other position accompanied FOX’s statement.
For FOX, the immediate priority is restructuring the programs that carried Bartiromo’s name while determining the permanent future of Sunday Morning Futures and the network’s broader weekday lineup. For Bartiromo, the departure closes a substantial chapter that began with her move from CNBC to Fox Business in 2014.
