Christian Pulisic Celebrates Goal with Trump’s Viral Dance Move
U.S. soccer star Christian Pulisic added some flair to his performance during a Concacaf Nations League match against Jamaica, scoring a spectacular goal and joining the latest dance craze sweeping the sports world.
Pulisic opened the scoring by skillfully flicking the ball over Jamaica’s goalkeeper and into the net. In celebration, he sprinted to the corner and broke into a dance move inspired by President-elect Donald Trump, a gesture that has been trending among athletes.
The celebration wasn’t his only highlight of the game. Pulisic struck again in the 33rd minute, while teammate Ricardo Pepi added another goal in the 42nd minute, giving the U.S. a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime. With a 4-0 aggregate advantage, the Americans appeared to have the match firmly in hand.
Pulisic’s dance move connected him to a growing trend among athletes. Over the weekend, several NFL players and UFC fighters performed the same move in public displays of support for Trump. Athletes such as Brock Powers, Calvin Ridley, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Za’Darius Smith, and Malcolm Rodriguez all joined in on the viral moment.
At UFC 309, Trump’s influence was evident from cageside. Heavyweight champion Jon Jones celebrated his knockout of Stipe Miocic by replicating the dance and later handed his championship belt to Trump. Rising UFC star Bo Nickal also embraced the moment, chatting with Trump about golfing after his victory.
From soccer fields to UFC cages, Trump’s signature dance has become an unexpected cultural crossover, blending politics and sports in a uniquely viral way.
