The news was shared by her close friend and longtime publicist, Ron Roberts, on her official Facebook page Wednesday night.

“It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night,” Roberts wrote. “I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news.”

Health Issues in Recent Weeks

Francis had been struggling with health problems in the weeks leading up to her death. Earlier this month, she was hospitalized due to pain and had to cancel several planned events.

An official cause of death has not yet been announced, but her social media posts suggested she was dealing with ongoing health issues.

A Star of Her Time

Born in 1937, Connie Francis rose to fame in the late 1950s. Her song “Who’s Sorry Now?” became a huge hit and helped launch her into stardom.

She went on to record more classics like “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” and “Where the Boys Are.” Her voice and emotional style made her one of the biggest female pop stars of the time.

Francis also acted in several films, adding to her success in the entertainment world.

Fans and Stars Pay Tribute

After the news of her passing, fans and fellow musicians shared tributes online, remembering her powerful voice and major impact on music.

Many say she opened doors for future generations of female artists and helped shape the sound of pop music during the 1950s and 1960s.

Plans for a funeral or public memorial have not been shared yet.
