Phil Robertson of ‘Duck Dynasty’ Passes Away at 79, Family Honors His Legacy of Faith and Love
Phil Robertson, the beloved patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family and a fixture in American reality television, has passed away at the age of 79. The announcement was made Sunday by his daughter-in-law, Korie Robertson, through a heartfelt message on Instagram.
Robertson, who had been battling Alzheimer’s disease in recent years, was remembered by his family as a man of deep faith and unwavering conviction.
“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” Korie wrote. “He reminded us often of the words of Paul: ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope… we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.’”
Known for his bold faith and larger-than-life personality, Phil Robertson rose to fame through Duck Dynasty, a hit reality show that chronicled the lives of the Louisiana-based Robertson family and their duck call business. The series ran for 11 seasons and was praised for its focus on family, faith, and traditional American values.
In her tribute, Korie expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and reflected on Phil’s enduring spiritual legacy.
“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus. We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”
A public celebration of Phil Robertson’s life is expected to be announced soon.
