Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities have exposed a significant corruption scheme involving state contracts for military drone procurement. The revelations come shortly after Ukraine’s parliament restored the independence of key anti-graft institutions, signaling renewed efforts to clamp down on misuse of wartime funds.

The Interior Ministry has confirmed that the implicated National Guard officers have been removed from their posts pending investigation.

“The law passed on Thursday guarantees them all the tools necessary for a real fight against corruption,” Zelenskyy stated.

The graft investigation comes just two days after Ukraine’s Parliament voted overwhelmingly to restore the independence of NABU and SAPO. This followed public outcry and international criticism over a controversial earlier measure that had reduced the agencies’ autonomy.
