Playboy Shifts Global Headquarters to Miami Beach, Opens New Club with Exclusive Amenities

Published Time: 08-16-2025, 17:00

Playboy Inc. is marking a major milestone by relocating its global headquarters from Los Angeles to Miami Beach while launching a new flagship club in the city. The move underscores the brand’s focus on expanding its creator network and enhancing its lifestyle and entertainment offerings.

The Miami Beach site will serve as both a corporate hub and a cultural destination, combining modern office spaces, creative studios, and an upscale members-only club inspired by the historic Playboy Mansion.

Miami Beach: Playboy’s New Cultural and Creative Hub

The company announced that its Miami Beach headquarters will occupy the top floors of a luxury office building. The space will include studios designed to support Playboy’s expanding “creator network,” aimed at producing digital content and collaborations across media platforms.

Ben Kohn, CEO of Playboy Inc., emphasized the city’s appeal, saying, “Miami Beach is among the most dynamic and culturally influential cities in the country, making it the ideal home for Playboy’s next chapter.”

The new location reflects Playboy’s strategic shift toward lifestyle, entertainment, and digital media, moving beyond its historic roots in Los Angeles.

A Modern Playboy Club with Classic Inspiration

Alongside its headquarters, Playboy will open a club that combines dining, entertainment, and members-only experiences. The venue will feature a restaurant open to the public and an exclusive section designed to capture the spirit of the original Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

The company has described the club as an extension of its brand, blending luxury hospitality with curated events and a creative community for members and collaborators.

A Legacy Spanning Seven Decades

Playboy was founded in 1953, with its first magazine featuring Marilyn Monroe on the cover and a “Sweetheart of the Month” color photo inside. The publication quickly became a cultural phenomenon, known for its photography, interviews, and lifestyle content.

The first Playboy Club opened in Chicago in 1960, shortly after the magazine’s launch, and soon expanded internationally with locations in major cities worldwide. These clubs became iconic venues, combining nightlife, entertainment, and branded experiences that reflected the Playboy lifestyle.

In 2020, Playboy discontinued its monthly print magazine, pivoting fully to online content while continuing to build its digital presence and creative networks. The Miami Beach headquarters and new club are the latest steps in the company’s evolution toward a modern media and lifestyle brand.

Strategic Implications of the Move

The relocation positions Playboy within a dynamic market known for tourism, entertainment, and cultural influence. Miami Beach offers proximity to influential creators, media companies, and luxury hospitality networks, aligning with Playboy’s goal of expanding its brand beyond traditional publishing.

Analysts note that the move could strengthen Playboy’s engagement with younger audiences and digital communities, while maintaining its legacy as a symbol of lifestyle and entertainment innovation.

Looking Ahead: Playboy’s Vision for the Future

Playboy’s Miami Beach headquarters and club are expected to serve as both a creative and social hub, hosting events, content production, and membership experiences. By combining office spaces, studios, and a luxury club, Playboy aims to redefine its brand identity in the modern media landscape.

Ben Kohn highlighted this forward-looking approach: “Our Miami Beach campus will provide the infrastructure and inspiration for the next generation of creators, while celebrating the culture and legacy that has defined Playboy for decades.”

As the company embraces this new chapter, it continues to merge its historic allure with contemporary digital innovation, lifestyle experiences, and global cultural influence.

After two years of uncertainty, a £500 million deal to resolve the ownership deadlock at the Daily Telegraph has been agreed “in principle.” The sale would see US investment firm RedBird Capital take control of Telegraph Media Group (TMG), alongside investors including Abu Dhabi’s state-backed investment vehicle, IMI.

Background: Two Years of Ownership Impasse

The original joint venture, RedBird IMI, agreed to buy the Telegraph titles back in 2023. However, progress stalled due to a ban imposed by the previous Conservative government on foreign state ownership of UK newspapers. This ban was largely driven by concerns over editorial independence, particularly focusing on Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan—IMI’s owner and the UAE Vice President, who also owns Manchester City FC.

Changing Rules Open the Door

Earlier this month, the government eased these restrictions, allowing foreign state-controlled ownership of up to 15%. This relaxation has revived hopes of finalizing the deal. It is also reported that UK-based media investors and possibly the owner of the Daily Mail have been involved in talks to join the consortium.

Despite this progress, regulatory hurdles remain, and there’s no guarantee the deal will pass all checks.

What the Leaders Say

TMG’s Chief Executive, Anna Jones, highlighted the company’s strengths:

“Telegraph Media Group is an award-winning news media organisation, with exceptional journalism at its heart, supported by leading commercial expertise, a commitment to innovation and a laser focus on data to drive strategy.”

She added that RedBird’s plans promise exciting growth:

“They will build on our success and unlock our full potential across the breadth of our business.”

RedBird’s Vision for Growth

RedBird, which already holds a 10% stake in the US group behind Liverpool FC, intends to invest heavily in digital operations, subscriptions, and journalism. Their goal is to expand The Telegraph’s reach internationally, especially in the United States, where RedBird has a strong presence in news, media, and sports.

Their strategy includes developing new content areas like travel and events, aiming to attract a larger and more affluent international subscriber base.

A New Era Ahead

RedBird’s founder, Gerry Cardinale, expressed optimism about the future:

“This transaction marks the start of a new era for The Telegraph. We plan to grow the brand in the UK and internationally, invest in technology, and expand its subscriber base.”

He added:

“The UK remains a great place to invest, and this acquisition is a key part of RedBird’s growing portfolio of media and entertainment companies.”

As this deal moves closer to completion, all eyes will be on UK regulators and the evolving landscape of foreign investment in British media. If approved, it could signal a significant shift for one of the UK’s most iconic newspapers.
