Sony World Photography Awards 2025: The Year’s Best Images Unveiled
The Sony World Photography Awards 2025 has revealed its shortlisted entries and finalists, showcasing some of the most powerful and thought-provoking images of the past year.
From a female skater in India to a park ranger transporting Congolese crocodiles, and a taxidermist preparing a deceased wolf for display, this year’s selections capture extraordinary moments from around the world.
Finalists Announced in 10 Professional Categories
On Tuesday, the World Photography Organisation unveiled the top selections in its 10 professional categories, which include:
- Landscape
- Still Life
- Sport
- Environment
- And more…
Each category features three finalists and up to seven shortlisted photographers.
Who Will Win Photographer of the Year?
The competition’s most prestigious honor, Photographer of the Year, will be awarded in April. The winner will receive:
- $25,000 cash prize
- A range of Sony photography equipment
- Global recognition in the photography community
Jury’s Take on This Year’s Entries
Monica Allende, chair of this year’s jury, praised the submissions for their originality and vision.
