Fisher-Becker’s husband, Tony Dugdale, announced his passing in a heartfelt Facebook post on Sunday. No details regarding the cause of death were disclosed.
Kim Barry, his agent at Jaffrey Management, also confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow:
“I lost not only a client, Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years. He helped me out enormously and was always kind, gracious, and interested in everyone.”

Fisher-Becker’s acting career began in the 1990s with appearances in British television series such as Hale and Pace and One Foot in the Grave. However, he gained widespread recognition for his role in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, where he portrayed the ghost known as the Fat Friar, who haunts the halls of Hogwarts.
His work extended to the iconic sci-fi series Doctor Who, in which he played the recurring character Dorium Maldovar from 2010 to 2011. He later reprised his involvement in the Doctor Who universe as a voice actor in the 2014 Doctor Who Online Adventures series, lending his voice to Gen. Nylan.
