Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr Reunite at Epic London Performance
Sir Paul McCartney reunited with his legendary Beatles bandmate, Sir Ringo Starr, at a spectacular concert in London’s O2 Arena, delighting fans with an unforgettable performance. The crowd erupted in applause as Ringo took the stage, joining Paul for a high-energy rendition of Beatles classics like “Helter Skelter” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”
As the night came to a close, Ringo expressed his gratitude to the crowd, saying, “I’ve had a great night and I love you all,” before walking offstage to a wave of cheers.
Thursday’s show marked the final stop of McCartney’s Got Back tour, which had taken him to cities across France, Spain, and Brazil. But Ringo wasn’t the only star guest that evening. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood also joined Sir Paul on stage for a lively performance of “Get Back.” During the song, McCartney played his iconic Hofner 500/1 bass guitar, which he hadn’t touched in over 50 years. The instrument was stolen in 1972 but was recently returned to Paul earlier this year.
The dynamic duo of Paul and Ringo, the last surviving members of The Beatles, have reunited on stage several times since the band’s split in 1969, including at Ringo’s 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and on Paul’s Freshen Up tour in 2019.
Known for delivering epic performances that showcase his impressive musical legacy, Sir Paul didn’t disappoint on Thursday. The 82-year-old treated the audience to nearly 40 songs, playing multiple instruments throughout the night.
Among the highlights was a rare performance of “In Spite of All the Danger,” the first song recorded by Paul’s early band, The Quarrymen, which also featured John Lennon and George Harrison. McCartney also brought festive cheer to the evening, inviting a children’s choir to perform his holiday classic “Wonderful Christmastime.”
The night was a celebration of McCartney’s extraordinary career, blending Beatles hits, solo tracks, and surprise guest appearances into an unforgettable show.
